Permalink Mirror of the witch started strong, but the twist upon twist just got the best out of it. But lets start with the story. A barren Queen asks the help of a dark magic witch in order to get pregnant.
EPISODE 1 RECAP A narrator describes the harsh conditions Joseon is currently suffering, with the sun's powers having been in decline for many years. The people have been encased in darkness, hitting them with despair and disease. And the royal family's power is slowly going downhill. (The sun is common symbolism for the king.)
