November 6, 2023. After Samsung, Sony becomes the second OEM (excluding Google) to release stable Android 14 update. The Android 14 update is now available for Xperia 1 V. Xperia 1 V is the second non-Pixel Android smartphone to receive the stable Android 14 update. Of course we are not including Google Pixels.
Update 50 (March 12) IST 05:38 pm: The Android 11 update is apparently breaking third-party launchers more than we initially thought. A recent report on Google’s Issue Tracker highlights a bug which results in third-party launchers to freeze for around 2 seconds after using the swipe up gesture.
It takes days or even weeks to receive this update. Currently, the deployment of the Android 14 system for the Xperia 1 V phone has begun in some European regions. The size of the update package is 1.3GB. The main changes are interface adjustments, system enhancements and some additional features. It also includes the latest October 2023

Now, as Android 11 is steadily rolling out for the Sony Xperia 1 II, Xperia 10 II, Xperia 5 II, Xperia 1, and Xperia 5, some users have noticed that they no longer have the fingerprint option to unlock their phones or perform any other biometric authentication.
